Hudson Valley school districts compared

Ever wonder how the school district salaries in your county compare to the rest of the counties in the southern Hudson Valley ? There's a Newsday website for that! It lists the six Hudson Valley counties by payroll for each district for the 12-month periods that ended between March and June of 2011. As you might expect, the top county is in the extreme southern Hudson Valley, but why is the second Orange County? Then Dutchess County came in fourth, and Ulster County is fifth on the list, beating out Putnam County by more than $200 million and $100 million dollars, respectively! Because of its size, Putnam must have fewer school districts than the other five counties in the list.

Nunez a murder suspect since 2011
