While stopping short of an endorsement, Democratic U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer on Monday said he hopes Ulster County Executive Mike Hein runs for the open seat in the 19th Congressional District, which is being vacated by Chris Gibson, a Republican. My Times Union colleague Kenneth C. Crowe II caught up with Schumer during an event in Troy to publicize his 17th tour of all 62 counties in New York.
