Authorities say a cause of death has been determined for a 19-year-old volunteer firefighter who died while battling a blaze at a Hudson Valley home last month. Police in the Ulster County town of Saugerties and the state Office of Fire Prevention and Control said Thursday that Jack Rose died of a heart attack trigged by inhaling deadly gases during the Dec. 19 fire.
