Vanessa Secore is director of rental assistance at RUPCO, the largest administrator of the federal Housing Choice Voucher Program, often called Section 8, in Ulster County. Secore said there are 842 people on the waiting list for Section 8 housing in Ulster County, not including those waiting for vouchers from other smaller housing authorities in Kingston, Ellenville and Saugerties.
