Much of the Hudson River flowing by Orange and Ulster counties received acceptable quality ratings after recent tests by Riverkeeper, the environmental watchdog. In samplings taken in May and June, sites including the Rondout Creek at the Kingston public dock, Kingston Point Beach, the Newburgh and Marlboro launch ramps, and the river off Fort Montgomery were found to have acceptably low levels of fecal bacteria.
