Two Ulster districts top local opt-out list for state tests

Onteora had the largest percentage of students in the region to opt out of the state English and math tests offered to grades 3-8 in April: 62 percent refused the English tests and 69 percent refused the math tests, according to data provided by the State Education Department. Another Ulster County district, New Paltz, came in a close second for test refusals, with 62 percent for the English tests and 65 percent for the math tests.
