No consensus on Stewart rebranding

NEW WINDSOR – The Stewart Airport Commission weighed in on the Port Authority's tentative plan to change the airport's name Tuesday only to demonstrate how difficult reaching a consensus will be. Chris White, Ulster County's deputy planning director, proposed a resolution supporting a name that included the words “New York,” or perhaps “Hudson Valley,” but not necessarily “Stewart.” “Actually, I think the best way to honor the Stewart family is to make this airport a success,'' said White, adding another option would be to dedicate the terminal to them.
