Storm blitzes Northeast; Hudson Valley spared from the worst

The storm was expected to peak overnight Monday, with the worst of the snow over by about 3 p.m. Tuesday, said Andy Mussoline, a meteorologist with AccuWeather.com. At its height, the storm could drop 2-4 inches of snow per hour, with total accumulations averaging 18 inches in Orange and eastern Ulster counties.
