New York officials say the expansion of the park in Ulster County comes from two parcels acquired from the Open Space Institute for $2.4 million from the Environmental Protection Fund. Officials say the purchase will lead to improved trails in the Shawangunks and help protect the Witch's Hole Conservation Area within the park.
