New York State Police Superintendent George P. Beach II has promoted Captain Richard L. Mazzone to the rank of Major, and assigned him as the 35th Troop Commander of Troop K. Major Mazzone started his law enforcement career in 1995 as a Police Officer for the Town of Saugerties Police Department. He then transferred to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, and later the Town of Ulster Police Department.
