CRAGSMOOR Ulster County Legislator Craig Lopez said in an update issued overnight that it is speculated the Sam's Point Preserve brush fire has now consumed more than 500 acres. Lopez said while road access and the terrain have made fighting the fire difficult, firefighters remain confident that between their efforts and some cooperation from the weather, the blaze will become easier to manage.
