KINGSTON – How did the Erie Canal affect wheat production in the Hudson Valley? How did land distribution patterns of the 1700s affect the apple industry in the mid-Hudson region? Elizabeth Higgins, agriculture program leader from Cornell Cooperative Extension Ulster County , will take you on a 300-year journey into the economic history of agriculture in the Hudson Valley, from the earliest days of Dutch settlement to the rise and fall of the Catskills resort industry.  This free presentation is part of CCEUC's annual meeting, which will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at CCEUC's Education Center, 232 Plaza Road, in Kingston.
