A Highland woman died Saturday after her vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic on Route 299 in the Town of Lloyd. Joanne Silvestro, 51, was driving a 2012 Honda Civic eastbound on Route 299 just before 9:30 a.m. Saturday when, according to investigation by the Ulster County Sheriff's Office and witness accounts, she drifted off the roadway onto the right shoulder and struck a guardrail.
