Catholic churches, parishioners face new era

The Archdiocese of New York is forcing three parishes in the mid-Hudson to close come next August and merging nearly a dozen others as part of a cost-cutting realignment years in the making. The three marked for closure to all but special services are St. Peter's on Wurts Street in Kingston, Saint James in Ulster County's Milton and Saint Thomas Acquinas in Forestburgh in Sullivan County.
