Hudson Valley man pleads guilty to helping Tennessee fugitives

The Pine Bush community was on edge for days last June, keeping their curtains closed and windows locked, waiting for updates on the two fugitives from Tennessee believed to be in the area. Richard Dana, 55, of Upper Mountain Road, pleaded guilty to third-degree hindering prosecution, a misdemeanor, on Tuesday in the Town of Shawangunk Court for giving criminal assistance to Jarret Cole Heitmann and Makayla Danielle Stilwell, according to a news release from the Ulster County District Attorney's Office.
