That was the ridership of the Kingston-based Catskill Mountain Railroad in 2016, down from 39,359 in 2015 and 40,270 in 2014. Ridership declined because the railroad was closed in June and July, waiting for its contract to be renewed with Ulster County, according to the railway operators.
