Ulster County Executive Mike Hein confirmed to the New Paltz Times last week that after more than a year of planning, which included several meetings and site visits with a local community Bridge Replacement Advisory Committee, site preparation and construction of the Carmine Liberta Bridge will begin next month, soon after the May 1 New Paltz Regatta. "Don't ruin the Regatta was one of the many issues we kept in mind as planning for bridge replacement moved forward," said Hein.
